I purchase this game to play with my 5YO son. We are both huge fans of the cartoon series and was hoping it would provide us will some quality entertainment. The game play is one some of the worst I have ever experience.

The camera view is my biggest grip. It continually changes with no reason other than to impress you with the graphics. The continual camera angle change ups makes jumps and combat rather challenging. Also no first person for aiming or weapon control . I am not a third person view hater , Gears of war is one of my all time favorite game. In this game it is so poorly done that it really takes away from the play quality.

The bad game lay out is also continual throughout the game. In several cases with no real direct you are supposed to drop off of a ledge to continue. Were dropping off of a ledge might kill you in one instance another it is how you progress. Again these just shows the designer was more interested in graphics and not solid game play.

The controls are also not in a standard configuration. This again destroys the overall game play. It would be nice to rent but shows no long term use or replay. You really just want to get to the end so you can resell it.

The Star Wars Republic Hero’s game is fairly good. It is a little short for the price, but my son is glued to it and is replaying all the levels. I play with him and still enjoy replaying the levels. I’d probably give it 5 stars if we didn’t finish it in less than a week. The Lego game took months to get through with a lot more reasons to replay.

I got this game for me to play with my 6 year old. I feel like I should stick up for this game because of the other reviews were too harsh.

He loves the Lego Star Wars game and has 4 billion points, thats how much he played it. He also really loves the Clone Wars TV show. This isn’t the greatest game ever made but for my son, it is perfect. He didn’t want to go to bed last night and took the game box to school to show the other Star Wars maniacs.

Like the Star Wars Lego game, the game is too hard for him to play the first time through by himself. I picked this game because it has a 2 person mode where the 2nd player (me) can jump in and out, like the Lego game. Basically, when he hits a spot that is to hard, I can jump in and help him through it.

The game itself is fun. It isn’t the most cutting edge game, but is worth buying if you like the genre. You switch between being jedi and clone troopers. The jedi works sort of like the Lego game (ie. double click the blue button for double jump, double dump + the green for a double jump light saber move, etc.). It is a little more complex and you can learn more combos. The clone section is like a overhead view shooter game with various weapons, grenades etc. It is no Call of Duty, but still fun.

All, in, all a fun game to play with you kids.

don’t believe the negative reviews. This is a very fun and humorous co-op game. Yes some of the platforming sections are not done very well and therefore are tedious and time consuming. But the positives – accessible combat, tongue in cheek humor, intuitive controls – far outweigh the negatives. It’s a safe buy if you are looking for some quality family game time.
