I am anxious to get this system and game for the MW2 edition Xbox, a little ticked about NOT receiving it yet after pre-ordering on Sept. 15th and i know of two people that use the same mail system i do at the same post office, that pre-ordered the week before it was released and have it already. I don’t know what the deal is but i think amazon needs to get there pre-order system straight and not take the people that order two months in advance and put them on the bottom and the people that pre-order the week before release on top. Doesn’t make any sense to me. So my recommendation is to pre-order close to release and wait til the last minute so you can get your stuff first…
As i not so patiently wait until tomorrow to drive and check my mail for the 8th time……

This is my second Xbox 360 unit that I own. I still have my launch day 20GB non-hdmi unit that just repaired for the RROD. I got about 3 years of use from my launch day unit before it was repaired and upgraded.
I got this MW2 LE bundle for the 250GB hard drive. Once you boot up and create your account the hard drive only has 225 GB of free space. You get one free arcade game with about 15 trial versions of other XBL arcade games. Just a waste of free space since you can’t get any gamerpoints for the trial versions of the XBL arcade games.
This Xbox is lighter, has more plastic built into this unit than any previous versions! I didn’t like the hard drive unit, it felt light and it’s cage was all plastic. My launch day unit had a steel case which would protect it if you dropped it. The new HD is light and if you drop it, you might smash the casing. It is also painted with a cheap black matte finish. It doesn’t have the chrome accent around it, and if you look at the case from the side you can see the cheap plastic scratches made from the factory.
The controllers also were light weight and seemed to be a little bit smaller than the standard controllers. Nothing to report but some more cheap plastic build. If you drop or sit on these controllers, then you will crack them. I didn’t even use the new controllers, since I have kids so I used my old controllers with the bundle.
The dvd drive was improved with low speed RMP without the jet engine sound taking off when you insert a new game or dvd. I admit that this was the best feature of the new Xbox besides the HD. The MW2 bundle should have some type of chrome accent for the dvd drive, but no just cheap plastic with black matte spray paint look to it.
Of course you need your own cables if you want to play in HD 1080P, so add some more money out of your pocket. I was able to use my old cables fine with this new unit. The power supply unit is light, half the size of the previous model. It doesn’t weigh 10 pounds, more like 2 pounds or less. The new power supply is also two prong and not the three prong ground kind. Make sure you plug it into a surge protector or else you will fry your new Xbox Elite when the power is out or in a case of a brownout.
The LAN cable is really short, It is 3 feet. My old Xbox cable was 20 feet or so. If your router is not close or you are not using wifi, you will have to spend more money on another cable.
For some reason this bundle size is a smaller footprint than all other models. It was worth the money if you needed or wanted the extra controller, MW2 game, and 225 GB hard drive which is the true amount left over for you to use.
This has the lastest chipset and motherboard upgrade. No need to worry about not getting one without it. All MW2 bundles have the new chipset and motherboard upgrade. All 12.1 volts with 150 watts ps. If you want a better bang for your buck, you might want to get the X-Mas bundle with 2 games and save yourself $100.
The new controllers for this bundle are cheaply made aftermarket looking designs. Nothing new on the controller just a smaller grip size with a cheap two tone spray paint finish on them. I will be selling mine!
I give this product 4 out 5 for the new design Microsoft did on the Power Supply, HD and overall DVD player. I didn’t care for the cheap controllers, all pastic HD cage, short LAN cable, 25 GB wasted space taken up for the dashboard os and trial software. Come on my first XBOX 360 only came with 20GB! Well I will enjoy this unit for a while, I hope that the new consoles will stay away from cheap abs plastic designs like the PS3 slim and MW2 Xbox Bundles and put some metal and steel back into the box!
MW2 is great, many new levels with new maps. Single player is short, less than 4 hours to beat it. The special OPS was a nice addition, but Call Of Duty 4 was a better design. You can’t adjust your scopes with MW2 and the overall game play was more focused on fighting alot and the single player story line was weak. This should have been an downloadable map pack instead of marketing it as a new game!

I am reviewing the console and the game here, so bear with me please while I try to put this into words. =)
Pros:
1) Limited Edition Graphics are sweet.
2) 250GB HDD, need I say more about that.
3) Comes with the MW2 included, a Black 360 headset and 2 wireless controllers to match the console.
4) Elite has HDMI port on the back so you can use HDMI.
5) Surprisingly quiet in use compared to older 360′s.
6) MW2 is “simply delicious” (thank you M.Bison).
Cons:
1) M$ only shipped an RCA cable with this Elite console.
2) No transfer Kit.
3) Although it’s got the new Jasper chipset, it’s still prone to RROD
4) Not so “beginner” friendly (steep learning curve for some)
Okay, that’s a breakdown of the main things I can think of. Now, I will go into more detail about some of the Pro’s and Con’s.
As far as MW2 itself is concerned, it is CoD4, but better. I will admit that I’ve barely started the campaign, but I have spent a few hours in multiplayer. They have added quite a few tweaks to the multiplayer aspect. They have given you a crap load more unlockables as far as attachments and weapon colors go. They’ve given you a different assortment of newer weapons (maybe not more, but at least they’re different). They’ve also added something to display your name in a different way. I’m not quite sure what it’s called, but you have a rectangular background to your Gamertag that you set a picture to and the picture comes with a name (example of this: a picture of a flashy race car with the word “Track Star” on it). I believe you unlock it as you go through multiplayer by meeting the criteria to unlock that specific background. Trust me, they are cooler than I am making them sound and collecting all the available ones to collect might just be an achievement in and of itself =D.There are more killstreak rewards now and you can also unlock them rather than just having them all from the get go which adds another little nuance to the game. The voices, sounds and graphics are top notch of course and you will probably know some of the actors who did the voices in the game just by how distinct they are in real life. The aiming feels just a little tighter than before which is a good thing.
Now for the things I think might be “not so good”. The RCA cable…um…yeah….it’s an elite….and uh…it should make full use of the HDMI port…thanks for jipping us on that one M$. Not only did M$ leave out the HDMI cable, but the casing around RCA cable where it plugs into the console BLOCKS YOU FROM HAVING AND HDMI CABLE CONNECTED AT THE SAME TIME!!!! What kinda BS is this! Some genius at M$ said “Let’s make the casing to big for another HDMI cable to fit if you have the RCA cables in so that it will make the consumer have to purchase our [...]RCA/HDMI cable!”. What this means is that if you have, oh let’s say a Turtle Beach headset, you would have to use the [...] cable from M$ to play with both HDMI and RCA cables at once (because for sound, Turtle Beach uses the Red and White Audio cables from the RCA cable and you play the game through the HDMI cable) or just use the RCA cable to play in SD on your HD TV (lame). Fortunately, a video on youtube helped me overcome this obstacle and save my [...](Thanks interwebs!;p). The game itself kinda thrusts you into it where COD4 left off without very much back story which to the newcomers out there, doesn’t really help. Also, the multiplayer is just about as friendly with the explanations on what to do. If you are new to the game, you might want to find a friend familiar with Call of Duty Modern Warfare (in real life or online) that can play the game with you to show you the ropes because your gonna need a little bit of schooling about what you’re getting into (not that controlling your character is hard, just how to handle everything else =D).
I tend to go off ranting sometimes, sorry for the wall of text, I’m just excited. Even with all the complaining I’ve done, the issues probably aren’t that big of a deal to everyone else and they aren’t to me either now that I’ve found a workaround. I would say that for [...], this is a great deal. I would give the whole package (console and game) a 4/5 rating.
