Nothing much can let a guy down like me when I get a game in which I get to be a ghostbuster. The effects in the game are great! The skin textures, hair, and clothes all done very well! And the best part is that the proton packs are just like the movie with more new weapons to boot.
Granted it can be a pain to catch a ghost, but heck its part of the challenge.
This game is ghostbusters meets Doom 3. In fact I think this game does better then Doom 3 or most games when it comes to the gaming graphics.
The fact that it’s recommended to have 4gb memory, intel Core 2duo or better and 512 mb of video memory tells me that this game and others are moving up to the next level of gaming.
The storyline also kept me interested, I kept playing this for hours on end on my PC…so i can imagine those who have this on 360 might get hooked, especially in multiplayer mode.
Very enjoyable game!

I have reviewed the game and think it is alright. Basically, fans of the original movies and cartoon series will love this title while gamers unfamiliar with the source material will probably shy away from this in favor of better games (such as Gears Of War 2). Good graphics, great sound, and repetitive gameplay make it an OK game overall that is held together by a great story. 5 out of 5 stars for past Ghostbusters fans and 3 out of 5 stars for gamers that aren’t Ghostbusters fans. One thing I didn’t mention in my original game review was just how fun the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man level was. I feel like it was what should have been in the original movie.
The Slimer edition is really something that Ghostbusters fans should purchase. The ECTO-1 keychain is alright, I will probably never use it. The same goes for the puffy plastic stickers. However, the Slimer plastic sculpture is great. It retains the look of Slimer form the first movie with some slight modifications. I was disappointed to find out that it didn’t actually glow (the pictures that Amazon use make it look like Slimer actually glows, as if batteries are inserted into the Ghostbusters sign) but that is something that is minor. The inclusion of Slimer bumps up my score to a total of 4 our of 5 stars. It really enhanced the experience and is something that Ghostbuster fans should have. I just wish that Amazon also would have given us a Stay Puft Marshmallow Man option as he is my absolute favorite ghost (actually a form of Gozer) from the movies and series (although the Boogieman from the cartoon series was pretty interesting).
Again, I only recommend this purchase for Ghostbusters fans as it is rather expensive but I do think that it is well worth the price.

First and foremost, let me tell you about the game itself. It is fun, you get the feeling this could have easily been a movie. You are a new recruit, at the station, a quick walkthrough/tutorial shows you the basics of the game and in a couple of minutes, you are ready to bust some ghosts. The mechanics of the game are excellent, some control issues are there, specially when running, but after a while, it becomes easier. The game, like I said before could’ve been a movie, and this gives it a extra notch of reality, specially with the real actors doing the voice, which will bring back memories and give you a bit of nostalgia. If you are a true fan, get this game, you won’t be disappointed.
Now, about the Slimer Edition from Amazon, IT IS WORTH THE MONEY if you are a true fan of the series. The Slimer sculpture is HUGE and amazingly detailed and no cheap materials were used.
The Key chain I must say, is kinda of useless. Amazon claims it lights up and sounds, but there’s no lights on it, only the siren.
The skins are not meant for either the 360 or PS3, THEY ARE NOT CONSOLE SKINS, although you could stick them to your console. They are basically bubble stickers you can attach to whatever you want, don’t get me wrong though, they do not feel cheap or look bad, they are accurate in detail and they are definitely something you can’t find anywhere else, very nice indeed.
All in all, the game is a must have for true fans. The Slimer figure/sculpture makes the special edition a must have, it if wasn’t so detailed and so well built, I would not recommend it, but it is, so buy if you can.
I gave 4 out of 5 stars only because of the key chain not being what amazon claims it is.

Let’s face it, nearly all movie based games suck. In the past, only a couple gems have been able to slip through. Spider-man 2 for Xbox and PS2…and Gamecube. And Chronicles of Riddick for xbox and PC.
This is one of those games. Terminal Reality spent alot of time working on this. And they where obviously very proud of how it was going, at every turn of development they let the “scene” know what was going on, showed off screen shots, and was more than happy to talk about the game in interviews and the likes.
I won’t get into the summary of the game.. but I’ll talk about everything else.
The graphics are amazing. all the little details pop, the physics are impressive and at times, it can actually be a little creepy in the dark. Sound is phenomenal the proton packs and traps sound just the way there suppose to, all the explosions, ghosts taunting you, and for the most part, the voice work is good too. honestly though. Bill Murray sounds bored, or like he’s to goo to be doing a voice over for a game.. I dunno, I didn’t like Murrays work in this.
This game was also written by the 2 guys who wrote the movies. (Dan Akyroyd and Harold Ramis.) So, you would think the story is top notch!.. Well, it’s OK, but no where near what I was hoping for. The ending kindof falls out too.
All in all though, this is a great game, let alone a great Movie based game.
EXTRA NOTE: The multiplayer aspects are all messed up.. PS3 version and Xbox360 version ONLY have online multiplayer. Don’t get me wrong, it’s fun!. But there is NO splitscreen.
on the other hand. The Wii gets Splitscreen, but NO online multiplayer. and for anyone thinking about the PC version… think again. It doesn’t have ANY multiplayer AT ALL!.
